Soundproof Laminated Glass / Sound Seifer

SafetySoundproofing
Excellent Soundproofing Performance

Compared with 3 mm glass commonly used in residential sashes, Sound Seifer 30 provides on average more than 5 dB better sound insulation, and Sound Seifer 35 more than 10 dB. Even compared with laminated glass of the same thickness, it exceeds by up to more than 5 dB in the 1,000–4,000 Hz range. (In general, a difference of about 5 dB is said to be clearly perceivable as improved noise reduction.)

Apart from soundproofing, its functions are almost the same as ordinary laminated glass. It still offers fragment retention performance that prevents glass shattering from scattering, and ultraviolet‑cut performance that reduces fading and deterioration of furnishings.

  • If the sound insulation performance of the frame or surrounding construction is low, the full effect of Sound Seifer may not be realized.
  • The sound insulation values are measured for glass alone. Actual performance in buildings may differ due to the influence of sashes and frames.
  • Please also refer to the precautions for Seifer (laminated safety glass).
